In a study released this week by YSN.com, college students between the ages of 21-24 years old in 50 countries revealed their professional expectations, intentions, and priorities and the types of jobs that are most attractive to them. However finding and keeping these jobs, especially in the business sector, will be a daunting task as the International Labor Office in Geneva notes that one billion young people will enter the worldwide workforce in the next 10 years. Among the startling findings of the Global Career Mindset Study include:

  • Over 50% will seek employment outside native countries
  • Careers in Business leads jobs wish list / Careers in Education, Politics, Medicine at bottom
  • Grads prefer North America followed by Europe, Asia, South America
  • Career more important than romance/marriage
  • Distain for a typical "9-5" culture – hunger for alternative work opportunities
  • High percentage (70%) desire their own business/franchise
